word. i agree– i'm not as hardcore as the hipsters who snub anything trendy (although it's now a full-blown fad and they're not set apart anymore), but i shy away from persons, places, things which are talked about too much. i've never heard beth moore speak for that reason- though i bet i'm missing something there- i have no desire to visit hawaii, and i do not own a labradoodle.
i am essentially a has-been, someone who "used to be a youth pastor" and now has no rank among the hot preachers of the day and i wonder if others think i should get a Master's degree to be qualified. i'd rather be a strong servant than a weak horse, though, and i know our God honors a broken and contrite heart! i am such a big fan of the waiting kind because i witnessed some of derek & dusty's paths at the birth of this thing and i respect the humility you both possess. remember when pastor mark shared the qualities of a broken leader vs. an unbroken leader from pastor judah? you guys are the real deal and i'm confident you won't be a flash in the pan! integrity carries you beyond gifting– keep on keepin' on.

One quick thing to add is that when you find something great that hasn't been hyped, you enjoy it way more. There is a certain delight in those moments of un-hyped pleasure.

I almost, cannot believe there were no comments to this blog. I know it was written with me in mind. by Our Savior thru you the writer.I'll be a 51 year old man in just two short days and fear has a grip on my life like never before. I am talking real, serious kinda fear. the kind a mere man, a sinner, can't hide. Your blog has done what I have always wanted my music to do for even just one person. Until tonight I have thought I was saved, but If a man has the fear I have felt inside for months then maybe my re- birth was not complete.Words in a short comment could not descibe what I have been going through and I do know there are others whom have had things worse,my dilemmas have been self inflicted so I hope this doesnt seem as selfishbut your writings truly blessed me, it is what I needed to read or here tonight.Thank you, Rick Reed I hope your music is as directing or guiding as your blog, I havent listened yet.
